The waterfall creates the scenes which should be said to be climactic of the scenery by the water. The Japanese embraced the thought that resembled faith to a waterfall for a long time. The waterfall itself is an incarnation of the Acala,or Japanese thought that it was a course to the realization of the Zen.
滝は水による風景のクライマックスとも言うべき場面を作り出します。古くから日本人は滝に信仰にも似た思いを抱いてきました。滝そのものを不動明王の化身であるとか、禅の悟りへの道などと見立ててきたのです。

At first the effect that a waterfall brings a garden is a three-dimensional impression. It adds the movement of the vertical axis to a garden spreading out in the cross direction. The big waterfall is daring,The small waterfall is solemn. And the sound of the flow of the waterfall is fare-thee-well.
滝が庭にもたらす効果はまず立体感ですね。横方向に広がる庭に縦軸の動きを加えます。大きな滝は豪快に、小さな滝は付近の風景と合わさって石組みと共に荘厳さを演出します。そしてもう一つ、これは誰しも分かるように音です。滝の両側の岩は反響板のような効果を持って落下する水の音を増幅するのです。

With some blog,”Why will not this garden be known very much in Japan?” Because modern Japanese sensitivity deteriorates, it is natural. Rather there are a great many cases that overseas people evaluate Japanese gardens. The present Japanese forgets one’s culture and cannot completely understand the Western culture.
どこかのブログで「なぜこの庭が日本ではあまり知られていないんだろう？」と嘆いておられましたが、それは現代日本人の感性が劣化しているので仕方の無いことなんだと思います。むしろ海外の目が曇りない目で日本庭園を評価する場合が非常に多くなってきています。「和」の文化を忘れ、西洋風にもなり切れない中途半端な何かｗｗ 庭園における滝組は重要な部分を占めていますが、この滝に目を向ける日本人の非常に少ないことｗｗ メインの広い庭にしか目が行かないのです＞＜
